Welcome

Based in Irvine, California, Speed Aquatics has been proudly serving the community since 2004. We are a premier year-round swim program focused on building strong fundamentals in a disciplined, positive environment.

We offer programs for swimmers ages 5–14 at convenient locations throughout Irvine, including Cypress Village, Eastwood Village, Great Park Neighborhoods, and Woodbury.

Joining is Easy!
Getting started with Speed Aquatics is simple. Just follow the steps in our drop-down menu — from scheduling an evaluation to completing registration, everything you need is organized and easy to follow. We’re here to make the process smooth and stress-free!

  • Before registering, all new swimmers must complete an evaluation to determine the best fit for their age and ability. Evaluations are 3-5 minutes in duration. Swimmers are expected to be able to make it accross a 25yd pool doing freestyle or backstroke. Please note instructors will not be in the pool for evaluation. Book your evaluation here

  • After the evaluation, our coaching staff will assign your swimmer to the appropriate training group (Speed 1–5). Placement is based on skill level and age.

  • Once placed, go to our website and click the Registration tab to sign up for your swimmer’s assigned group. You'll be guided through the process step-by-step.

  • During registration, you’ll be prompted to create a GoMotion account. This account allows you to manage billing, swimmer info, and practice schedules.

  • USA Swimming Membership
    All Speed Aquatics swimmers must have a current USA Swimming membership before participating.
    USA Swimming provides insurance coverage and ensures all athletes are part of a nationally recognized organization promoting safety and excellence in the sport.

    You can register or renew your membership directly through the USA Swimming portal. A link is provided during the registration process. CLICK HERE TO GET STARTED

  • Once registration and USA Swimming membership are complete, your swimmer is ready to start! Bring swim gear and a great attitude. Please have required gear for your group.

Program info

At Speed Aquatics, we offer a progressive, year-round swim program designed for athletes ages 5–18, from beginners to advanced swimmers. Our structured levels ensure that every athlete builds a strong foundation and grows at their own pace in a positive, disciplined environment. At every level, our goal is to foster a love for swimming while encouraging personal growth, confidence, and team spirit. Evaluations are required before placement to ensure swimmers are in the group that best matches their abilities.

    Introduction to Swimming
    Perfect for young beginners. Swimmers learn water safety, body positioning, floating, kicking, and basic strokes in a small group setting.

    Foundations of Technique
    Focused on building confidence and improving freestyle, backstroke, and breaststroke fundamentals. Swimmers begin to learn practice habits and lane etiquette.

  • Speed 3
    Stroke Development
    Athletes refine all four strokes (freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly) and begin working on turns, starts, and endurance in preparation for higher training levels.

    Training and Racing Skills
    Designed for swimmers ready to train more competitively. Emphasis is placed on stroke efficiency, race strategy, and aerobic conditioning while maintaining strong technique.

    Pre-Competitive & Competitive Training
    Advanced level for swimmers preparing for competitive swimming and USA Swimming meets. Athletes focus on race preparation, pacing, advanced skills, and mental toughness.
